Audrey Joan Mold, 95

Audrey Joan Mold of Acton passed peacefully June 22, 2026, at age 95 after a life spanning several continents.
Born in Dehradun, India, her mother worked in the office of Lord Mountbatten, the last viceroy of India. She and her mother left India for London at the Partition in 1947. While studying nursing at Charing Cross Hospital she met her future husband James William Mold, a resident there. They were married in 1952 and had four children, Julia, Jeffrey, Michele and Jane.
In 1957 they moved to America and eventually settled in Acton, where she resided for 52 years. She greatly missed England but made Acton her home. James sadly passed in 1997. In thanks for its help with James, she donated an ambulance to the Town of Acton in 2014.
Audrey was an avid gardener and loved classical music and opera. She always greeted her children’s visits with, “Would you like a piece of fruit?” She was also a great lover of animals, especially her three dogs Jenny, Jack, and Bobby, whom she cherished.
Later in life she went back to nursing, getting her GED and retaking certificates in the United States and working in nursing and caretaking.
She leaves behind four children, four grandchildren, and a great grandchild.
Services are planned for Monday, July 13, in the Dee Funeral Home. Please call the funeral home office at (978) 369-2030 for more information.
