Betty F. Dion

Betty F. Dion, age 89, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her Acton home while surrounded by family on October 3, 2025.  She was the beloved wife of 58 years to the late Andre R. Dion.

Betty was born in Québec City to Florence and Paul Adams. She met and married Andre in Québec City. They relocated in 1960 to Massachusetts, where they started their family and Andre began his career at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. After settling in Acton in 1970, Betty earned her nursing degree in 1977 and started her nursing career at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She retired from nursing practice in 1998 after 17 years with Starmet Corp.

Betty loved to travel, including voyages to Japan, Mexico, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Greece, and many trips to California to visit and vacation with family. She was an avid skier and tennis player. Winter was highlighted with family ski vacations throughout Quebec. Betty played tennis throughout the year for most of her life.

For many years Betty participated in a weekly prayer group of Acton women hosted by her good friend and neighbor June Grace. She was warm, generous, and outgoing, with close ties to her siblings, and held long-lasting friendships. Her greatest joy came from her love of family and the time spent with them.

Betty is survived by three children Sandra Dion, Louise Dion (Gary Barnett), and Eric Dion (Martina Lin); three grandchildren Sadie, Nathalie, and Isabelle; sister Lola Giguére (Adams) of St. Lambert, Québec; brother Jerry Adams of Montreal; sisters-in-law Murielle Croteau (Dion) and her husband André of Québec City, and Micheline Adams (Galibois) of Québec City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, November 8, from 9:30-11 a.m. at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Acton Center. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Acton Center. Her ashes will be interred at a later date in Québec City.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Doctors Without Borders (www.doctorswithoutborders.org) or Nature Connection (www.nature-connection.org).

Arrangements are entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Acton. To share a remembrance or to offer a condolence on Betty’s tribute page, visit DeeFuneralHome.com.
