Acton Fire Department rescues fallen worker on demolition job
CFD headed to Bruce Road to aid the injured worker, who had plummeted into a six-foot-deep hole.

First responders rescued a construction worker who tumbled into a confined space while working on a home demolition Tuesday morning, Acton Fire Chief Thomas Judge said.
CFD was summoned to 63 Bruce Road at about 11:20 a.m. to aid the worker, who had plummeted into a six-foot-deep hole inside the house.
“He was trapped in a relatively small opening and we had some challenges getting him out of there with an injury,” Judge said.
After freeing the worker by employing confined space rescue equipment, Acton Fire transported him to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston for treatment for unspecified injuries.
The Acton Police Department and PRO EMS also responded to the scene.
“I’d like to thank all of our companies who worked together to bring this rescue to a successful conclusion,” Judge said.
