Concord250 seeks original poetry
The “Call to Poets” is looking for one original, unpublished poem that reflects on liberty, resilience, and the future of America.

Concord250 continues its celebration of the American Revolution’s anniversary with an opportunity for Massachusetts-based poets.
The “Call to Poets” is looking for one original, unpublished, English-language poem that reflects on liberty, resilience, and the future of America.
Poems are limited to 260 words (not including title, dedication, or epigraph) and must be original, unpublished, and not shared online.
Five poems will be selected for recognition and monetary awards — first place ($1,000), second place ($350), and three highly commended poems ($150 each).
A three-person Acton committee will judge the poems anonymously; their names will be made public after the winners are selected.
Winners will also be invited to read at a May 17 event at the Acton Free Public Library.
Submissions are due by October 31, and winners will be notified by mail in March 2026. For full guidelines and the entry form, visit concordma.gov.
