Firefighters climb the ladder with promotions
Sean Murphy, Michael DeRoche, and William Nelson were sworn in to new roles on January 29.
Acton got a new assistant fire chief last month.
Sean Murphy was sworn in to his new role at the Town House on Thursday, January 29, along with Michael DeRoche, who was promoted to lieutenant, and William Nelson, promoted to captain.
At the ceremony, Fire Chief Brian Whitney said that advancement in the department requires sustained hard work and commitment, and that none of those promoted would have attained their new roles without the backing of friends and family. Following the remarks, department members and families gathered for photographs and congratulations.
