Industrial History Mural
On the wall of 30 Beharrell St. facing the Post Office is a large mural depicting many of West Acton’s major industries, such as trains, mills, and factories. Designed by Edward Feather and painted by a cadre of local artists, the mural is one of a series displayed around the Village that highlights important aspects of West Acton’s culture and history.
Panel Presentation
Hear long-time West Acton residents share stories of life in and around the village. The panel is moderated by Carolyn Bottum, and members include Maynard Forbes, Nancy Ames, Joe Soberg, Meg Gaudet and Mark Higgins. The April 14 presentation will be held at the Harvey Wheeler Center. Plans are to have Acton’s Minuteman Media Network record the presentation and make it available on its website.
These four explorations are presented by the West Acton Junction Cultural District Committee with funding support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. Additional support for the mural, photo exhibit and tour comes from Presenting Sponsors Trashology and Green Labs Recycling; Presenting Sponsors and Supporting Sponsor Plug.
