ICE detains two outside Acton Police Department
A Leominster man and his mother were detained outside Acton Police headquarters on May 17.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained a Leominster man and his mother outside Acton Police headquarters on May 17 after the man was arrested on outstanding traffic warrants.
The 23-year-old man had been pulled over for running a red light, according to Acton Police Captain Brian Goldman. A records check revealed the driver had outstanding warrants for minor traffic violations in Natick, Framingham, and Marlborough and he was taken into custody, Goldman said.
While the man was at the station, ICE contacted Acton police, but the department declined to share information about the driver with the federal agency, Goldman said.
After posting bail, Acton police released the driver into the custody of his mother. The son and mother were then detained by ICE outside the station.
Goldman confirmed some aspects of the arrest, but directed The Bridge to ICE for more details. ICE did not immediately respond to a Bridge request for comment on Tuesday.
The incident comes as communities around the commonwealth have reported increased immigration enforcement activity.
