It’s official: Oct. 1 is Acton Free Public Library Day

The Select Board will read a proclamation on Oct. 1 declaring the date as Acton Free Public Library Day.
Board Chairman Henry Dane offered to declare it Acton Free Public Library Week, but Library Director Emily Smith and Board of Trustees President Sherry Litwack said that the day would be sufficient. Also Litwack said Rep. Simon Cataldo (D-Acton) said he had filed his first resolution to the State Legislature to declare it Acton Free Public Library Day across the state.
The library is planning events for the day including the proclamation to be read at the Town House followed by a march to the library at 129 Main Street for family fun.
