Jeep hits house on Lowell Road

A Jeep crashed into a house earlier this month, prompting the closure of multiple roads, police said.

Just before 4 p.m. on January 6, a Farmers Cliff Road resident reported a gray Jeep had turned into their driveway and struck a tree and a boulder while attempting to turn around.

Shortly after dispatching an officer to check the scene, numerous 911 callers reported that the same vehicle had crashed into a house on Lowell Road near Barretts Mill Road. One caller was the homeowner, who said there was significant damage to his house.

Police arrived on scene and found the driver having a medical emergency, according to police Capt. Brian Goldman.

The driver was transported to the hospital for treatment for the medical event, and police closed down Barretts Mill and Lowell Roads while the Jeep was removed.
