Josephine V. (Colicchio) Delfino, a longtime Acton resident, passed away on January 14, 2025, at the age of 105. She has been reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of 48 years, Dominick Delfino, who died in 1986.

Josephine was born in Walpole on August 16, 1919. Her life was busy, and she tried many things. She worked at Hartwell Farms in Lincoln as a chef and as a business manager at Valley Head Hospital in Carlisle, and she was the first baker for the Acton Public Schools, making bread for students. Her last job before retiring was working for the Town of Acton in the assessor’s office. She was active in the Acton Council on Aging and involved with senior citizens. She was president of the West Acton Women’s Club, vice president of the Center Club, and a member of the Acton Shakers, who performed on the “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” Josephine was a homemaker and loved to cook. She was an artist and loved her home and her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Hutchinson of Acton; her grandchildren, John Hutchinson Jr. of Acton, Lorie Ogilvie and her husband Parky of Acton, Linda Henell and her husband Steven of Marco Island, Florida, and Janey Ward and her husband Alec of Acton; her great-grandchildren Kara and Brett Ogilvie, Makena, Sean, and Cameryn Henell, and Kaia and Ava Ward; and her great-great-grandchild Mackenzie Blaney, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her son Ralph Delfino and her son-in-law Jack Hutchinson.

Family and friends will gather for visitation from 11 a.m to noon, Wednesday, January 22, in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, followed by burial at St. Bernard’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Josephine to the Council on Aging Gift Shop, 1276 Main Street, Acton, MA 01742.
