A PrideStar EMS ambulance and a car collided at Barretts Mill and Lowell Roads on the evening of December 15, police and fire officials said.

The ambulance was transferring a patient between hospitals when it collided with the other vehicle, Fire Capt. Sean Murphy told The Acton Bridge after the accident.

“It wasn’t like they picked that patient up at a different car accident and were bringing them to the hospital,” Murphy said.

Fire personnel took the ambulance patient to Emerson Hospital’s emergency room with minor injuries, Murphy said. The two PrideStar EMS attendants were taken to Lowell General Hospital for evaluation. The other driver was not injured and was taken to a safe location to be picked up.

Police Capt. Brian Goldman said the car driver was ticketed for a stop sign violation.
