Missing teen, last seen in Acton, found safe

A 13-year-old girl, missing from Acton from more than a month, was found safe in Hanson on Friday, according to Acton and Hanson police.

The teen went missing from Acton on Jan. 8 but her photo and description was released to the media Thursday with an appeal to the public for help locating her (since the child is a minor, her name and image has been removed from The Acton Bridge website).

Search efforts were focused around Hanson and other communities where she was believed to have connections. Investigators were confident the girl was not in Acton, because she has no ties to the community.

On Friday afternoon, Hanson Police, Acton Police, and Massachusetts State Police located her unharmed.
