Missing teen located after police search
The wide-ranging search ended with the youth being located in New Hampshire.
A wide-ranging Friday evening police search for a missing Acton teenager ended with the youth being located in New Hampshire.
Acton police sent out an email notice at 5:10 p.m. about an increased law enforcement presence in the Acton Academy area, noting that there was “no concern for public safety.”
The search included officers from Billerica, Carlisle, Methuen, Pepperell, Wakefield, and Woburn. Police deployed multiple drones as cruisers and K-9 units combed the Acton Center area.
Police set up staging areas near Acton Academy and in the Crosby’s Marketplace parking lot. Blue lights illuminated the scene as the sound of sirens and police dogs barking punctuated the otherwise quiet night.
Police Capt. Brian Goldman told The Acton Bridge that the search ended when the teen phoned his parents. The youth was not injured in the incident.
