Patricia Ann (Foley) Hackmer, 86, of Acton, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Boston Medical Center.

Born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1940, in Arlington, she was the daughter of the late Arthur John Foley and Irene M. (Ouellette) Foley.

Patricia grew up in Arlington before settling in Belmont. As a young woman, she loved fashion and attended school in Boston for fashion and design. She later worked as a seamstress at Priscilla of Boston, a premier American bridal brand renowned for luxurious, romantic wedding gowns featuring intricate lace and fine fabrics. She married Michael John Hackmer Sr. and moved to Acton, where she would make her home for more than 50 years.

Following her husband’s death in 1985, Patricia took over P&M Sales Agency and built a successful career as a manufacturers’ representative. In 1991, she was elected president of the Housewares Club of New England. After three years, Patricia was elected chair of the board of directors.

Pat was deeply committed to civic life and Republican politics in Acton. She served as chair of the Acton Republican Town Committee. Her political engagement reached a national stage in 2016, when she was elected as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, representing Massachusetts’ 3rd Congressional District.

A devout Roman Catholic, Patricia drew strength from her faith throughout her life.

Beyond her professional and political life, Patricia was a devoted gardener who took great pride in tending to her home. Those who knew her will remember a woman of conviction, warmth, and tireless energy — someone who could command a room at a trade show or rally a political committee.

She is survived by her two children Michael John Hackmer of Ashburn, Virginia, and Michelle (Hackmer) Wriede of Hightstown, New Jersey; and six grandchildren, Christine Hackmer, Sofia Hackmer, Andrea Hackmer, Ethan Wriede, Brady Wriede, and Kylie Wriede. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Arthur Foley.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Casper Funeral & Cremation Services, 187 Dorchester Street, Boston. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Autism Speaks at autismspeaks.org.
