Favored by blue skies and a warm spring breeze, crowds congregated along Commonwealth Avenue last weekend for Spring Into West Acton Day, strolling among local shops, vendor booths, and live music performances.
Temperatures climbed above 75 degrees as visitors soaked up the atmosphere along West Acton’s sidewalks during the annual celebration.

“The downtown just has so much to offer, and it’s such a beautiful day,” said Elyse Carroll, who works in Acton and came with her family. “I was very surprised to see all the plants and all of the different offerings here this year.”
Shops set racks of goods outside their doors, which stood propped open to admit both visitors and the balmy air during the annual event.

“It’s kind of nice to just walk around and see what’s going on,” Carroll said. “There’s always different things to do.”
Helen Halloran of The Acton Flower Shop is also the secretary and treasurer for West Acton Village Community, a coalition of business and non-profit leaders that helped bring the event to life.

“As far as I could tell, it was well attended, and everybody was happy and had a fun time, so I think we could call it a success,” Halloran said.
“Every year it gets better, gets more notice,” she said, and “more people know about it and look forward to it.”

Shoppers perused the specialties of the village’s stores, and pop-up vendors’ offerings ranged from plants to handmade artwork and jewelry.
Fay Senner, owner of Passion Print, returned this year after enjoying the event in 2025. “This is a good venue to connect with people and show your art,” she said.
