School committees reshuffle after elections and a resignation
As two new members were welcomed, one seat was left empty — the result of a midyear resignation.

The Acton-Carlisle School Committees are beginning the new fiscal year with new members.
Michael Williams and Sandeep Pisharody won their seats in the April Acton election, and Lynette Kelleher from Carlisle was appointed June 18 to fill Julie Viola’s seat.
Viola, former chair of the Acton-Carlisle Regional School Committee, resigned because she moved out of town.
Both Acton school committees also appointed new leaders. Andrew Herchek became chair of the Acton School Committee. Tracey Marano will lead the regional committee.
This is Herchek’s first time serving as chair. He was elected to the committee in 2024.
Marano, a longtime member of the regional board, previously served as chair, most recently during the 2023–24 school year. She was re-elected in 2024.
