As redevelopment talks continue, state crews have been removing razor wire that once topped MCI-Acton’s walls.
Large metal spools remained in place facing the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail and Commonwealth Avenue at least into January, according to Acton Bridge aerial photographs.

By last week, much of the wire was gone.
Workers have removed some wire to “repurpose it for other facilities or store it for future needs,” state Department of Correction spokesperson Lindsay Corcoran confirmed to The Bridge.
