Virginia Tener Tupper Anderson, 86
Virginia Tener Tupper Anderson, 86, passed away peacefully at her home in Vero Beach, Florida, on February 14, 2026. She was born June 3, 1939, to George Aiken Tupper and Alice Tener Tupper in Montclair, New Jersey.
Gina, as she was known by her friends, was a loving wife to her husband Hodell “Bud” and a devoted mother to Deborah T. Doucette and William H. Anderson. Debbie and her husband Michael Doucette live in North Attleboro with their son Luke and daughter Josie. Bill and his wife Ashley live in Acton with their three sons (John, Robby, and Beau). Gina leaves behind her two sisters Jane Johnson of Vero Beach and Patricia Gaffney of Tinton Falls, New Jersey.
After graduating from Montclair High School, Gina attended Colby Sawyer College. She met Bud on Cape Cod while working a summer job at the Belmont Hotel, and in 1961 they married in Montclair. They shared 65 wonderful years. They lived in Rhode Island and Connecticut before moving to Acton, where they raised a family and lived for 40 years. After Bud and Gina retired, they moved to Bluffton, South Carolina, and then to Vero Beach.
Gina was a proud member of the Junior League of Boston and one of the original Milldames at Milldam Nursery School in Acton. When her kids were getting ready to graduate from high school, she started working at Barrett Real Estate Co. With her kind and thoughtful demeanor, it suited her perfectly. She enjoyed tennis and golf with her friends and especially enjoyed time at the Cape with family and friends. She was most happy managing events at the Cape house and playing on the beach with her grandkids. She always had a smile and was welcoming and friendly to everyone she met. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Gina bravely battled Alzheimer’s for 10 years. We are grateful to the VNA & Hospice Foundation in Vero Beach for their care and support for Gina over the past year.
A memorial service to celebrate Gina’s life will be held at Trinitarian Congregational Church in Acton at 10 a.m. on Saturday May 16. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org) or VNA & Hospice Foundation (foundation.vnatc.com).
