To maintain and boost water quality, crews will flush pipes starting on October 14, subject to water availability.

Be ready to turn off your tap.
Town officials are urging Concordians to be on the lookout for water main flushing in their neighborhoods.
During flushing in your area, staffers say you should limit and even avoid using water to reduce your chance of pulling sediment into your lines.
The town will flush pipes starting on October 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., subject to water availability. Crews do this primarily to maintain and boost water quality.
Iron and manganese can cause a brown tint. Officials urge people not to ingest discolored water, but say it’s safe for bathing and dishwashing.
The town aims to flush every neighborhood every other year. Flushing can also cause discoloration outside neighborhoods where it’s taking place, but the general schedule for this month’s activities is as follows:
October 14-16: Elm Street, Nashawtuc Hill, Barretts Mill Road, Annursnac Hill
October 16-17: Great Road, Laws Brook Road, Conant Street
October 20-22: Laws Brook Road, Conant Street, Baker Avenue Extension, West Acton Village, Main Street
October 22-24: Harrington Avenue, Old Marlboro Road, Thoreau Hills, Forest Ridge Road, Nathan Pratt Drive
