Academic achievement should be the superintendent’s primary focus
I noticed in the last Acton Bridge publication that the superintendent’s 2025-26 goals omitted the words “improve academic achievement.” This is an incredible oversight. This should be the most important goal every year and one that most parents expect from our public schools.
For 2025, U.S. News & World Report ranked Acton-Carlisle High School No. 30 out of all schools in Massachusetts. The superintendent’s goal should be to improve the school’s ranking every year. Our current superintendent should be promoting academic achievement and should be responsible for overseeing curriculum development and ensuring that educational standards and programs maximize student achievement.
Further, the public relations company, which the superintendent recently hired using taxpayer funds, will not be able to disguise or dismiss this important goal.
