Avert tragedy: Have that scooter safety talk
Parents, please talk to your children about safety practices. Otherwise, this could have been another tragic story in The Bridge.
Saturday night, July 12, 9:15 p.m., corner of Route 62 and Commonwealth Avenue in West Acton. Two kids, early teens, riding tandem on a motorized scooter — no helmets, no lights, no reflective clothing, crossing against the light. Husband had to slam on his brakes to avoid hitting them, only seeing them at the last second.
Parents, please talk to your children about safety practices. Otherwise, this could have been another tragic story in The Bridge, devastated parents, and my husband traumatized for life.
