Bayes’ pick-6 sparks football past Holliston, 16-7, in home opener
The September 18 game against the Panthers kicked off this year’s Kicks for Cancer campaign.

The Acton-Carlisle football team notched its first win of the 2026 season, besting Holliston in a non-conference matchup, 16-7, in the Patriots’ home opener on September 18. The game kicked off this year’s Kicks for Cancer campaign, with proceeds supporting breast cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

- Record: Overall 1-1, Dual County League 0-0
- Turning point: CCHS trailed 7-0 late in the first half when linebacker Aiden Bayes, after breaking up one Holliston pass, intercepted a second at the Panthers’ 48-yard line and returned it to the end zone to put the Patriots on the board.
- Unsung heroes: Running back/linebacker Sawyer Carnes and tight end/defensive back Jack Garofalo showcased strong versatility all game, denying Panthers drives while moving the offense upfield when the ball was in the Patriots’ hands. Garofalo not only was instrumental to the Pats’ special teams, but also caught the longest pass play of the night for a 27-yard gain.
- Up next: The Patriots were to travel to Algonquin Regional High School to take on the Titans on September 25.
