Bike to School Days start Wednesday

These events are a great way to build healthy habits, support our environment, and bring the community together before school.

Get ready to roll, Acton. Students and families are invited to participate in one of four Bike to School Day events happening across town in the coming weeks. These events are a great way to build healthy habits, support our environment, and bring the community together before school.

Bike to School Day schedule:

  • Wednesday, October 8: Thoreau School
  • Thursday, October 9: Alcott School
  • Friday, October 10: Acton Middle School
  • Wednesday, October 15: Willard School

Each event will feature a fun and safe bike train accompanied by parent volunteers and the friendly officers of the Acton Police Department. Please check with your PTG or principal for starting locations and times. Parents are encouraged to walk or ride alongside their children, as this is not a drop-off event. Whether you’re walking, scooting, or biking, this is a wonderful opportunity to get some fresh air, connect with neighbors, and start the school day energized and ready to learn.

Research shows that physical activity before school helps improve focus, mood, and overall well-being in students. Even better, biking or walking to school reduces traffic congestion and cuts down on harmful emissions, making Acton a greener, healthier place for everyone.

Let’s show our kids the power of community and the importance of caring for our bodies and the planet. Mark your calendars, pump up those tires, and join us for Bike to School.
