Acton-Carlisle boys hockey roared back from a 1-0 deficit midway through the final period last Saturday night to earn a 3-1 victory over 2024 state champion Boston Latin.

- Team record: Overall 9-7-3, Dual County League 8-3-1
- Big game: Will Steffens excelled at both ends of the ice, winning pucks in the defensive zone and scoring CCHS’ first goal. Theo Price broke through to score the game-winning goal for the Patriots with three minutes left on an assist from Joe Grasso. To ice the victory, Grasso took a clever behind-the-back pass from Declan Daley and floated the puck from deep in the Patriots’ defensive zone down the ice for an empty-net goal that crossed the line with 2.6 seconds left in regulation.
- Turning point: With 7:30 left in the game and Boston Latin leading 1-0, Steffens picked up the puck in his defensive end, surged diagonally across the blue line into the offensive zone, and fired a shot over the goalie’s right shoulder to tie the game and shift momentum to the Patriots.
- Unsung heroes: Forward Owen Moynihan and defenseman Fisher Tibbitt blocked six and four shots, respectively, helping to keep the game within reach for CC and demonstrating the team-first attitude instilled by Coach Rian Murray.
- Up next: CC was to play its final regular-season game on Wednesday against Dartmouth High.

CCHS 4, North Andover 2
The Patriots got goals from four forwards and overcame an early 1-0 deficit to defeat Dual County League rival North Andover, 4-2, on February 11.
- Big game: Tommy McKenna led the Patriots with three points, including the game-winning goal. Tyler Kamoniek tied the game at 1-1 with five minutes left in the first period, Ben Brooks gave CCHS the lead briefly in the second, and Price scored with six minutes left in regulation to put the game out of reach.
- Turning point: After North Andover tied the game halfway through the second period, McKenna gave the Pats a lead they would not relinquish, taking passes from Moynihan and Steffens, and scoring with a shot that sailed above the North Andover goalie’s blocker.
- Unsung hero: Filling in for injured captain Sam Griswold, sophomore goalie William Richardson played his first varsity game and turned away 10 shots in the victory. With Christopher Bono and Jake Jones both injured, Steffens, James Jenney, Cam McWalter, and Tibbitt played smothering defense, holding North Andover to a season-low 12 shots on goal.
