The Patriots defeated the Westford Academy Ghosts, 8-6, on Thursday night to win the Division 1 title.

For the first time in the program’s 50-year history, the Acton-Carlisle girls lacrosse team has captured the Division 1 state championship.
The Patriots defeated the Westford Academy Ghosts, 8-6, on Thursday night to win the title.

Acton Bridge Sports Contributor John Skelly reports CC’s Lindsay Cain had a hat trick, Karleigh Mutch and Scarlett Mirak contributed two goals each, and Sarah Fortier rounded out the scoring with an additional goal.
The Patriots and the Ghosts traded leads throughout the game, and were tied at the end of the first and second quarters.
Though the team made it all the way to the final four last year, this was their first championship game since 1990.
The girls finished the regular season 18-2.
The CC team was the Division 1 No. 1 seed heading into tournament play.
