  • Big day: For the second straight year, Theo Remington took first place to reign as state champion in slalom.
  • Game changer: Team scoring combines the schools’ top three finishers and includes giant slalom and slalom races, and all four Patriots skiers contributed to the team’s success. In giant slalom, Remington placed third, Jamie Poole finished 15th, and Will Redmond slotted in at 37th. In slalom, Remington finished first, Poole seventh, and Jakab Renyi 46th.
  • Unsung heroes: In a field of 140-plus competitors, Julia Reynolds finished 13th in slalom, the highest CCHS girls placement since 2020, and 54th in giant slalom. Juniper Flint had solid finishes in slalom (31st) and giant slalom (32nd).
  • Up next: Remington will compete with Team Massachusetts in the Eastern High School Championships at Attitash Ski Resort in New Hampshire, running this weekend.

CCHS Alpine skiers sparkled at the Mass Bay West All-League Race on February 13. Among 16 teams and 212 skiers at Nashoba Valley, the boys rocketed to first place, and the girls sped to third. Boys team scores:
CCHS 571, Lincoln-Sudbury 569
Girls team scores:
L-S 570, Winchester 545, CCHS, 541, Nashoba 497

  • Big day: In a crowded field, CCHS skiers won both boys events outright: Remington placed first overall in the slalom, and Poole won the giant slalom. For the girls, Reynolds finished first overall in giant slalom, and Flint placed a strong 10th in slalom.
  • Game changer: Under the rules, each school’s second- and third-place finishers in every event gather key points toward the team total. For CCHS girls, the second and third finishers were Elise McMorrow and co-captain Maddie Clancy in slalom, and Ceci Clancy and Evvy Hickey in giant slalom. For the boys, they were Renyi and Nate Johnson in slalom, and Redmond and Isah Nichol in giant slalom.
  • Unsung heroes: Renyi also placed third overall in boys slalom; Redmond and Nichol, fourth and eighth overall in boys giant slalom; and Ceci Clancy and Hickey, sixth and ninth overall in girls giant slalom — a race that saw three sophomores (Reynolds, Ceci Clancy, and Hickey) in the top 10. All top 10 finishers won individual medals.
