CCHS boys lacrosse posts two dominant wins

The Acton-Carlisle boys varsity lacrosse team improved to 7-1 last week as it continued its strong season with two impressive wins: 16-7 over Lexington, and then 15-9 over Natick to win the Battle Road Classic.

“What a week for the CC lacrosse team,” head coach Jon Smith said. “I am so impressed with how the boys came together under difficult circumstances to play so well as a complete team. For us to score 31 goals in the past two games, that is really special.” On April 26, CC defeated Natick 15-9, using a second-half surge to put the game out of reach. Sam Griswold opened the scoring on a man-up opportunity, and Alex Fivek and Taylor Ladd provided key goals to keep CC out front. Ladd delivered two behind-the-back finishes; John Anderson, Eric Palmer, and Matthew Carleton each scored. “Christopher Bono was especially impressive on Saturday, competing for every possession and jumpstarting the offense,” Smith said.

Senior goalie Henry Morgan anchored a determined defensive unit, holding Natick at bay while the Patriots built their lead. CC’s complete team effort on both ends of the field carried them to a meaningful win as they honored the spirit of the community.

The Patriots were scheduled for a busy slate of games, including two important league matchups.
