Opening their season on the road, Acton-Carlisle golfers began the defense of their co-Dual County League Champ title, posting a gritty 246-250 win over Lincoln-Sudbury on September 2.

  • Team record: Overall 1-0, Dual County League 1-0
  • Big day: Leading the way for the Patriots were team captain Sophie Redmond (with a round of 38), Ben Brooks (39), Jake Jones (41), Evan Koder (42), and Tate Miller (42).
  • Game changer: This year, the DCL has altered its format from match to stroke play. The Patriots struggled mightily off the tee and with their mid-range irons. Their early-season work on the putting green paid big dividends, however, as they consistently sank crucial putts to salvage the victory.
  • Up next: The Patriots were to host the Newton South Lions at Acton Country Club on September 8.
