Claiming zero tolerance for antisemitism isn’t enough

Acton’s educators should be crafting a robust plan for a curriculum focused on basic human rights for all.

Claiming “we don’t tolerate antisemitic acts” is not enough. Acton’s educators should be crafting a robust plan for a curriculum focused on basic human rights for all. We should be making the examination of these recent deplorable events into a learning opportunity for the entire school community.

After seeing their embarrassingly maladroit process naming the middle school, the town elected new members to the School Committee over an incumbent. Now I read that (1) only the superintendent is available for comment and (2) the School Committee is off for the summer. The committee won’t convene until late August, just before the start of school? Where are our newly elected School Committee members who campaigned as agents of change? Let’s see the evidence of your agency.
