The Acton-Carlisle boys’ lacrosse team opened its MIAA Division 1 playoff campaign in dominant fashion last week, defeating Boston Latin 17-4 in the first round.
The Patriots entered the tournament as the No. 6 seed in a 32-team bracket and wasted no time asserting themselves on both ends of the field.

Alex Fivek opened the scoring and quickly tallied a hat trick, setting the tone early. Sam Griswold added a man-up goal, and John Anderson capped off a strong first quarter, giving CC a 5-0 lead.
The Patriots continued to pull away in the second quarter. Peter Burke finished a nice transition opportunity to make it 7-0, and James Reynolds scored twice, including a slick finish that extended the lead to 14-1. Taylor Ladd also found the back of the net on a feed from Cam Sones, and Charlie Lynch added a fourth-quarter goal to close out the scoring.

James Jenney stood out with several impressive defensive plays, and in goal, Jake Huff and Ben Wonsek contributed to an excellent second-half performance, anchoring the defense and sealing the win.
The Patriots advance to the round of 16, where they’ll face Catholic Memorial High School. The date had not been set as of press time.
