Deadline is today for Habitat home applications
The partner family selection process for three new single-family homes in Acton is now open.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell is delighted to announce that the partner family selection process for three new single-family homes in Acton is now open.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell’s latest homes (two 3-bedroom/2-bath homes and one 4-bedroom/2-bath home) will be sold through affordable mortgages to households earning no more than 80% of the area median income.
Each Habitat partner family must provide at least 250 hours of “sweat equity,” or physical labor, toward the construction of their own home, other Habitat family homes, and special projects. These homes will be sold to first-time, qualified homebuyers, and two of the three homes will be offered with a “local preference” for families who already live, work, or have children in Acton schools. Qualifying applicants will be entered into a lottery.
To apply and for more information on eligibility, process, and Habitat partnership, please visit lowellhabitat.org/homeownership. Printed applications are also available at the HFHGL Main Office in Westford (68 Tadmuck Road, Unit 1, Westford, MA 01886). Applications are due February 20; packets may be mailed or dropped off in person 24/7 in a lockbox next to the door of the main office. For families who are unsure whether they will qualify, screenings are available upon request.
For any questions related to the application process, families can reach Nancy Cook, program manager, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell at (978) 596-0619 or [email protected].
