Elect ‘articulate, respectful’ Alexa Anderson
As a Acton resident of over 25 years and a former School Committee member, I
enthusiastically support Alexa Anderson for re-election to the School Committee. Alexa first
caught my attention as School Committee chair. She was quite impressive, displaying the
qualities of leadership and thoughtfulness we so desire in all elected officials. Alexa is
knowledgeable, articulate, respectful, and objective. We then connected socially, and I observed her in a more informal setting. I was equally impressed with her open, friendly, and
easy-going nature.
Alexa’s roots in our community are deep. A true Acton family, Alexa and her husband
graduated from CCHS, and their children attend our public schools. Prior to her School
Committee service, she volunteered with the PTGs of Thoreau and Willard Schools, the Milldam
Nursery School Board, the Acton Library, and the Acton Foundation Community Chest.
Experience and continuity are key to School Committee operations enabling second-term
members to hit the ground running. Alexa already understands the School Committee’s complex
budgeting and teacher contract negotiation processes. She leveraged her understanding of our
academic curriculum and results to ensure Acton was accurately represented in the Boston
Magazine School Rankings issue. Alexa has built excellent relationships with school staff and
educators, town personnel and committees, as well as our broader community.
Alexa has a wonderful, positive, confident, and engaging personality. She is also incredibly
competent, experienced, and has displayed a seemingly indefatigable work ethic. Alexa is an
amazing asset to the School Committee, a sound and steady voice in support of our Town’s
children, families, and educators. Do not pass up this wonderful opportunity to have Alexa
continue to serve our community in this important role. Please join me and my husband, Scott, in voting for Alexa Anderson on April 8.
