Emerson Health changed trajectory of our lives
Support Emerson’s Transforming Health campaign to help keep, and expand, the best possible care in our special community hospital.
We have lived in Acton for 45 years and have relied on Emerson Health for outstanding health care. Emerson Health has enabled us to exceed expectations for medical outcomes and recovery. We certainly understand how important it is to have such remarkable advanced care here in our community.
Our story includes many health challenges, beginning when Bill suffered a series of heart attacks at age 45. After two failed bypass surgeries at a Boston hospital, he benefited from the support, encouragement, and care he received at Emerson’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. Ginny Dow, RN, and her team changed the trajectory for him. Thirty-six years ago, his cardiac surgeon suggested that his life expectancy was about five years. With Emerson’s care, he defied those odds and has celebrated all of our daughter’s accomplishments and milestones — and his 81st birthday. He lives a full life that once seemed impossible.
Emerson’s Cardiac Rehab Program is preparing to move from the White House in front of the hospital to a larger space inside the hospital. This expansion will allow more people to receive the expertise and care that promoted Bill’s remarkable outcome. As the program grows, it will rely on community and financial support to continue transforming lives.
Emerson has made a huge impact for us in more recent critical times. Honore’s urgent shoulder replacement surgery and recovery, survival from herpes encephalitis and extensive rehabilitation therapies, and treatment for breast cancer were all delivered with exceptional skill, compassion, and kindness. Each experience affirms how fortunate we are to have outstanding lifesaving care close to home.
We encourage our friends and neighbors to support Emerson’s Transforming Health campaign to help keep, and expand, the best possible care in our special community hospital.
