Expressing gratitude for support from the Acton Education Fund
Innovative ideas often begin with a simple question: “How can we better meet our students’ needs?”
Thank you for highlighting the important work of the Acton Education Fund in your recent article (July 31, 2026). As both a Acton resident whose children attended Acton Public Schools and a speech-language pathologist employed by the district, I have experienced the value of the Acton Ed Fund from two perspectives.
As a parent, I was grateful for the exceptional educational opportunities my children received. As an educator, I now see the creativity and dedication that teachers and specialists bring to their work every day. I also see how often innovative ideas begin with a simple question: “How can we better meet our students’ needs?”
My colleague Angela Suarez and I were honored to receive one of this year’s grants to support students with complex communication needs through augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). We are excited to bring this initiative to life and are grateful to the Acton Education Fund and its donors for making this opportunity possible. Grants like ours allow educators to try new ideas, pilot innovative programs, and provide resources that simply are not available through a traditional school budget.
I hope members of our community, whether or not they currently have children in the schools, will consider supporting the Acton Education Fund. I know that my family and I will continue to support the CEF and the important work it makes possible.
