Field hockey thumps Chelmsford, suffers season’s first loss to A-B
The Patriots tamed the Lions on their own turf on September 14 but fell to Acton-Boxborough on September 17.

The Acton-Carlisle field hockey team suffered its first loss of the 2026 campaign, 2-0, in a tightly contested road skirmish against Acton-Boxborough on September 17.
- Team record: Overall 2-1-0, Dual County League 1-1-0
- Big game: The defensive line performed admirably under constant pressure. Keeping the game within reach throughout were co-captain Zoë Bonzagni, Maddie Minkin, and Emerson Ambrose.
- Unsung hero: Goaltender Lexie Ramirez stood tall under relentless attacks by Acton-Boxborough.
- Up next: For their first home game of the season, the Patriots were to host the Wellesley Raiders on September 22.

CCHS 8, Chelmsford 1
The Chelmsford Lions had roared through their first two games with blowout wins, but the Patriots tamed them on their own turf on September 14.

- Big game: Skyla Rigazio tallied four goals, Bridget Fivek delivered a hat trick, and Abby Ruhmann scored on a scorching penalty stroke.
- Game changer: For the second straight game, Fivek scored early — this time offsetting Chelmsford’s first-strike goal and sparking a sustained offensive surge for the Pats.
- Unsung heroes: The dynamic midfield (Ruhmann, co-captain Ally Couto, Ceci Clancy, and Julia Reynolds) held the Lions almost entirely in their defensive half of the field.
