Get involved in civic events by joining the PCCC

No prior experience is required; reliability, collaboration, and a willingness to contribute are what matter most.

While spring may not yet be in the air, planning for 2026 is already underway. The Public Ceremonies and Celebrations Committee (PCCC) is preparing for Honored Citizen Day, Meriam’s Corner Exercises, Dawn Salute, and Patriots Day, events that transform history and gratitude into meaningful community moments.

From organizing parades to welcoming residents at public ceremonies, the PCCC manages the details that ensure these traditions run smoothly and respectfully.

The Select Board appoints seven voting members to a staggered three-year term each. The committee may also request non-voting associate members to support specific events, an excellent opportunity for those new to town service. No prior experience is required; reliability, collaboration, and a willingness to contribute are what matter most. Members work closely with public safety and town departments, and meetings are conducted in accordance with open government laws.

Our town’s most cherished traditions rely on neighbors who bring time, creativity, and commitment. If you’re interested in logistics, outreach, budgeting, or hands-on support on event day, there’s a place for you.

Residents are invited to submit a brief statement of interest to [email protected].

Help keep our traditions strong and make a visible impact on our civic life.
