‘Great leadership for our schools’: Vote for Anderson and Pisharody

It is my honor to endorse Alexa Anderson for re-election to the School Committee and Sandeep Pisharody for election to the School Committee. Both candidates have demonstrated a willingness to collaborate and have shown great leadership for our schools.

Alexa’s leadership as chair of the Acton School Committee and vice chair of the Acton-Carlisle School Committee has been instrumental in achieving our school’s current ranking at No. 5 in Massachusetts.

Alexa’s commitment to the well-being of our students from Acton, Carlisle, and Boston is evident through her advocacy for mental health resources, recognizing that emotional support is essential for academic success. Her negotiation skills have led to fair contracts with all eight unions across both districts, balancing the interests of students, educators, and taxpayers. She also played a key role in superintendent negotiations, ensuring strong leadership aligned with district goals.

Beyond visible committee meetings, Alexa dedicates countless hours to analyzing data, preparing for discussions, scrutinizing budgets, and writing grants — all to enhance student experiences. Her behind-the-scenes efforts reflect a deep commitment to our community’s educational priorities.

Her prudent approach to budgeting showcases a commitment to fiscal responsibility. By posing insightful questions and ensuring judicious spending, Alexa balances the needs of students, teachers, and the broader community, exemplifying sound financial stewardship.

I am also endorsing Sandeep Pisharody for School Committee. He is thoughtful, analytical, and believes in strong schools and a strong community.  As a current parent, he has firsthand knowledge of the challenges that students and teachers face in our current environment.

Alexa and Sandeep will bring analysis, leadership, and a commitment to the students of Acton, Carlisle, and Boston.
