Heartfelt gratitude to CPW for top-notch snow removal
Snow removal is demanding work, often done in long shifts and harsh conditions, and usually without much recognition.
A sincere thank-you to Acton Public Works for their outstanding efforts in snow removal following the recent storm. While many surrounding towns, and even entire states, remain paralyzed by what can only be described as “snowpocalypse” conditions, Acton got to work quickly and efficiently, restoring safety and access for residents within a remarkably short timeframe.
For a brief moment, our town looked more like a ski resort than a functioning community. But CPW crews moved swiftly to clear roads, walkways, and bus stops, ensuring that families could get where they needed to go, students could travel safely, and seniors and pedestrians were not stranded by impassable sidewalks.
Just as important, they made parking accessible for our local stores and businesses, helping our town return to normal commerce rather than staying shut down. They also ensured that fire hydrants were cleared and accessible, an essential but often overlooked part of storm response that directly supports public safety and emergency services.
Snow removal is demanding work, often done in long shifts and harsh conditions, and usually without much recognition. Acton is fortunate to have a public works department that demonstrates professionalism, urgency, and real care for the community.
Thank you, Acton Public Works, for keeping our town safe and moving.
