Hiersteiner brings energy, practical ideas
Whether he’s coaching his kids, cooking for friends, or advocating for civic engagement, Sam creates the connective tissue our community needs.
We have been close friends of Sam and Jackie Hiersteiner for more than 10 years, and we enthusiastically endorse Sam for the Acton Select Board. Please join us in voting for him on March 31.
Acton is where we were raised and where our families have a long history of service — as school leaders, committee chairs, business owners, volunteers, coaches, and members of the Select Board. This town shaped us; our three children are proud fifth‑generation Concordians.
Years ago, our family introduced Sam and Jackie to Acton. We were thrilled when Acton captured their hearts and, years later, became the place they chose to call home. It has been a joy to watch them embrace the town and become actively involved in community life.
Sam is a rare blend of strategic professional and community builder. At iCivics and New Profit, he has devoted his career to strengthening democracy, social entrepreneurship, and access to opportunity. Whether he’s coaching his kids, cooking for friends, or advocating for civic engagement, Sam creates the connective tissue our community needs. He is a clear thinker who honors Acton’s history while bringing energy and practical ideas to help our town thrive.
Important Select Board decisions will have both short‑ and long‑term consequences, and many young families juggling careers, children, and volunteer commitments are too often underrepresented in town government. The board faces consequential choices, and Sam represents a new generation of leadership for Acton’s future.
We are grateful that Sam is stepping up. He has the professional experience to lead and the heart to listen.
