Join Acton’s focus group on bias and hate reporting

We are developing a new system for reporting incidents and need your firsthand knowledge, insights, and input.

The town of Acton’s Bias and Hate Reporting Workgroup invites you to participate in a focus group discussion. We are developing a new system for reporting hate and bias incidents and need your firsthand knowledge, insights, and input to ensure it is effective, accessible, and trustworthy.

We would like to hear your experiences concerning incidents of bias and hate in Acton, your thoughts about barriers to reporting, what you need in a reporting system to feel safe and empowered, and what you think the town should do with the information it receives through such a reporting system.

The focus group will take place Thursday, February 5, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Goodwin Forum at the Acton Free Public Library, 129 Main Street, Acton. The group is limited to 20 participants.

Participation is based on the order in which a request is received. If you would like to participate, please contact Magnolia Begley by the close of business on Monday, February 2, at [email protected].

The town of Acton endeavors to make public meetings accessible to all members of the public. To request reasonable accommodation or modification, please contact the town’s ADA coordinator, Jessica Porter, at least two business days before the meeting, at [email protected] or (978) 318-3028.
