Letter: Animal bonding or animal threat?

Extraordinary photo on page. 1 of Issue 12, Volume 2, but a fatuous caption: “Animal bonding?” I see a carnivorous hunter chasing prey, both acting on instinct. If we want to preserve wildlife in Thoreau’s hometown, we must respect the creatures in our natural environment and maintain effective control of our beloved pets in wildlife habitats. Instinct can overpower training.
