The Acton-Carlisle boys soccer team won its second 5-0 victory in three days, defeating Westford Academy on October 15.
- Team record: Overall 10-1-1; Dual County League 5-1-1
- Big games: The Maxes maxed out the score sheet: Max Hepworth tallied two goals and added one assist, Max Chikkala contributed a goal and an assist, and Max Booth recorded his first varsity goal with a rocket of a shot. Max Furman started in goal and shared the shutout with second-half sub Aboudy Sibai.
- Game changer: Liam Nielsen, Rory Best, and Van Rowen kept control in midfield, while Burke Breimyer and Sam Keener provided offensive bursts from their positions at right and left back, respectively.
- Unsung heroes: Nate Seeley was the lone starter to play all 80 minutes. His reliability at center back and partnership with Peter Brown stabilized the team’s defense, helping lead Acton to their ninth shutout in 12 games. Aidan Cobbe scored his first varsity goal after dancing past a Westford defender.
- Up next: The Patriots were to host the No. 1-ranked team in Division 2, Wayland, on October 20.

CCHS 5, Newton South 0
The Patriots returned to their winning ways on October 13, beating Dual County League foe Newton South, 5-0, with a dominating second-half performance and a hat trick from Hepworth.

- Team record: Overall 9-1-1; Dual County League 4-1-1
- Big game: Hepworth added three goals and an assist to his season totals, including the opening goal in the 45th minute. Assisting on Hepworth’s goals were Keener, Matan Yosefson, and Owen Tompsett. Also scoring were Breimyer (assist Hepworth) and Yosefson (assist Tompsett).
- Turning point: After weathering the aggressive Newton South attack in the first half, the Patriots came out of halftime with increased intensity and a focus on ball possession. CCHS’ first goal, scored by Hepworth, came just five minutes into the second half. The Pats continued to attack, adding four more goals for the decisive victory.
- Unsung hero: Adrian Avini provided a spark from his offensive position, checking back to provide an outlet pass for defenders and helping the team transition to the attack — as well as pressing the Newton South midfield on defense.
