Monthly prose reading series highlights authors published by independent press

I wanted to spread the word about the free authors reading series organized by Acton resident and author Tracy Winn that is being held at Acton Art.

Each month, the Independent Press Prose Reading Series features a different independent press and two authors whose work has been published by them. If you enjoy the Acton Festival of Authors, or are an aspiring author yourself, then this is an excellent opportunity to hear recently published writers read from their books. The sessions held so far have been entertaining, lively, and well worth attending.

Writers, take note: Independent presses offer a viable alternative to the Big Five publishers or self-publishing. Representatives from the featured independent press will be on hand to answer questions.

The sessions are free, but you are requested to register in advance through Acton Art. (Click on Programs and Events on the concordart.org website.)

The next one is Thursday, January 29, from 7-8 p.m. at Acton Art. It features EastOver Press and authors Joan Wickersham and Ralph Sneeden. Future sessions are scheduled through June.
