More support for Newbury Court zoning change
Since becoming a resident of this town, I have learned that Acton is a community that cares deeply for people, like the children in our schools who need excellent teachers and facilities for learning. Acton has a state-of-the art hospital, a fine public library, and other important cultural institutions.
Because of this attitude of caring for people, I am confident that the residents of this community want to provide appropriate services for the large senior population who live in our midst. At Newbury Court, where I have resided for almost eight years, I have enjoyed new friendships, and intellectual, cultural, and physical learning opportunities in a safe and healthy environment.
As a caring community we Acton residents now have the opportunity to enlarge the campus of Newbury Court in order to provide services to many of the more than 500 persons who are now on the waitlist and want to reside at this not-for-profit continuing care retirement community. I urge a vote of support for the zoning change at Town Meeting.
