Our community needs what Newbury Court offers seniors

It will not be possible for Newbury Court to fulfill this need if it is prevented from expanding.

I strongly support Newbury Court’s efforts to have recently purchased land rezoned to a continuing care retirement community (CCRC).

As a Acton resident, I value Newbury Court’s commitment to the community and its mission to allow seniors to remain in their town as their needs change. A non-profit organization, Newbury Court employs over 500 people, pays over $900,000 in taxes annually and $1 million  in utilities to the town.

As a social worker, I have long appreciated Newbury Court’s efforts to accommodate senior residents who want to remain in Acton but are in financial situations that require flexibility and modified arrangements. In addition, Newbury Court provides over $1 million in charity care every year.

As a daughter, I am grateful for the exceptional care that my own parent received at Newbury Court, and I hope many other families can have a similar experience. With over 500 local residents on the waitlist, it is clear that the need for what Newbury Court offers our community is enormous. It will not be possible for Newbury Court to fulfill this need if it is prevented from expanding.
