Patriots overwhelm Lexington in historic Fenway football matchup
The Acton-Carlisle football squad concluded its 2025 season by throttling Lexington, 32-0, in Boston.

With the Green Monster at its back and a wintry breeze stirring the air, the Acton-Carlisle football squad concluded its 2025 season by throttling Lexington, 32-0, in the 103rd edition of their annual Thanksgiving matchup — this time played on the eve of the holiday at Boston’s Fenway Park.

CC stumbled early, fumbling to Lexington on its opening possession, but defensive backs Peter Burke and Finn Ruhmann scrambled the Minutemen’s drive. When CC took over, receiver Aiden Bayes found a pair of first downs, and with under a minute left in the first quarter, running back Lewis Simon ran for a 63-yard touchdown. Jack Garofalo nailed the extra point, and CC closed out the first quarter in front, 7-0.

Lexington opened the second quarter with the ball but couldn’t find traction against the Patriot defense. Linebacker Kenji Ma and Ruhmann stuffed a Lexington rush, and Ruhmann broke up a pass in the end zone to keep the Minutemen off the scoreboard. Ma followed with a sack, and the Patriots took their seven-point lead into the half.

The historic game, played in the year in which Acton and Lexington are marking the 250th anniversary of the start of the Revolutionary War in which they held such a vital role, featured musket volleys by the Acton Minute Men as well as the rousing support of the CCHS Pep Band and cheer squad.

CC stopped Lexington on its first possession of the second half, then moved the ball 42 yards in three plays before extending its lead to 14-0 on quarterback Ryan Duffy’s 17-yard TD strike to tight end Alex Fivek. The Pats didn’t let up as the clock ticked down in the quarter, with running back Tyler Houth notching back-to-back first downs for a total of 22 yards and receiver John DiCesare also having a nice gain.

The final quarter opened with Sawyer Carnes’ 25-yard scoring run, bringing the tally to 20-0. After forcing a Minutemen punt, the Pats took over at the 45, and a first-down pass from Duffy to Fivek set Simon up for a 35-yard touchdown to put CC up 26-0. The Pats once again locked up the Lexington offense on their ensuing drive, recovering a fumble to regain possession.

The offense continued CC’s momentum as Houth evaded the Minutemen for over 30 yards, and receiver Christian Meyer found the end zone from 4 yards out, closing out an 18-point fourth quarter to seal the blowout win.
