  • Big game: Sarah Fortier led the way with six goals. Lindsay Cain and Scarlett Mirak had a pair each, as Mirak dominated the draw circle with 11 control wins. Maya Feloney and Vivi Miles each had a goal.
  • Turning point: After a four-goal run by Chelmsford in the final quarter, Fortier closed the door, scoring unassisted with less than two minutes remaining.

CCHS 15, Cambridge Rindge & Latin 0

The Patriots jumped out to an 8-0 advantage after the first quarter against Cambridge Rindge and Latin on April 8. The cushion gave every player an opportunity to show their abilities as Coach Erin Cash freely substituted players so veterans and younger players could work on game-specific situations. In all, 11 Patriots scored at least one goal.

  • Big game: Finley Walsh led all scorers with three goals and an assist. Mirak and Sarah had two goals each.
  • Unsung heroes: Eight other players scored — Fivek and Cecliy Dorr each notching their first varsity goal — and Feloney, Miles, Cain, Ada Bridgman, Julia Reynolds, and Lizzie Sproule with a goal apiece.

CCHS 14, Bedford 7

The Patriots started DCL play with their home opener against Bedford on April 7. Bedford led through the first quarter 3-0. The Pats found their footing in the second quarter with six goals to tie the game at halftime. Eight CCHS goals in the second half put the game out of reach.

  • Big game: Mirak led the offense with six goals; Fortier had three goals and an assist. Cain had two goals, and Reynolds, Miles, and Bridgman each had a goal.

Unsung heroes: Goalie Maimie Kosicki had 12 saves on 22 shots for her best outing of the year. The defense stepped up in the second half, allowing only one goal.

Coming off wins over Bedford, 13-3, and Cambridge Rindge and Latin, 16-1, last week, the Acton-Carlisle boys lacrosse team ran into a powerhouse Medfield team on April 11. The Patriots battled throughout on both sides of the ball, but fell 14-5 on the road.

  • Team record: Overall 2-2
  • Big game: Tyler Shepard scored three goals against a stingy Medfield defense, including a key tally to cut the deficit to 9-5. Alex Kosicki opened the scoring off an assist from Charlie Lynch. Adler Kakas anchored the defense with an excellent all-around performance.
  • Game changer: Medfield extended its lead late in the third quarter after the Pats had cut the deficit to four goals.
  • Unsung hero: Goalie Ben Wonsek made a number of key saves, turning away several high-quality scoring chances to keep the Patriots in contention.
  • Next up: The Patriots were to battle Boston Latin on Tuesday and Lincoln-Sudbury on Thursday.
