Led by co-captain Sophie Redmond and her second ace of the season (+2, 37), Acton-Carlisle golfers put together a solid tee-to-green performance to earn a 236-243 victory over Billerica on October 1 and split the season series.

  • Team record: Overall 9-3, Dual County League 7-1
  • Big day: The Patriots held a narrow lead heading to the ninth tee, but Redmond and co-captain Joe Grasso had to seal the deal. Grasso found the green off the tee, leaving himself about 10 feet from the hole. Next up, Redmond’s 9-iron caught the side of the hill, bounced, and disappeared into the cup for her second hole-in-one of 2026.
  • Unsung hero: Jake Jones carded a 3-over 38.
  • Up next: CCHS was to take on Bedford at Acton Country Club on October 7.

Wellesley 234, CCHS 236

In one of the season’s most competitive and entertaining matches, the Patriots saw their home unbeaten streak end, falling by just two strokes to Wellesley on September 30.

  • Big day: The back-and-forth match saw the Pats trailing by just three strokes heading into the final group. Grasso (38) and Fisher Tibbett kept the door open by both making par on the final hole, but Wellesley finished strong for the victory.
  • Unsung heroes: Redmond contributed a solid round of 38; Jake Erston finished at 39.

Billerica 229, CCHS 239

The Patriots stumbled for the second time this season, falling victim to a tight, demanding course and a well-balanced Billerica squad on September 29.

  • Big day: Tate Miller and co-captain Glen Murdough each carded a 38, with Redmond a single stroke behind, at 39.
  • Game changer: Given narrow fairways, heavy rough, and slow greens, there were few easy shots and even fewer opportunities for the Patriots to recover from mistakes.
