Please check Acton sidewalks to avert more pedestrian mishaps
My husband (nearly 83) tripped and fell outside The Brides House, where one slab is sticking up.
I need to begin by saying how much we love Acton. We have visited family here over a number of years and come to regard it as a second home.
We have walked up into town along Main Street countless times to shop and visit Helen’s, where we are warmly welcomed back each time. As we have got older and less agile, we have become more aware of the challenging state of the sidewalk. This is particularly true along a certain stretch by Acton Academy.
Sadly, with a lapse of concentration of only seconds, my husband (nearly 83) tripped and fell outside The Brides House, where one slab is sticking up. There are others.
Everything flashes before you: Christmas ruined. Hospitalization, etc., etc. Luckily due to heavy padded winter clothing, he seems to have escaped (if that’s the right word) with several grazes, cuts to his face, and sore ribs.
I just wonder if someone could walk along the sidewalk and see the problems. I would hate for someone else to suffer far worse injuries.
