Pocket park would benefit West Acton
It would be a welcome area of green space in a location that was recently ravaged and denuded by developers.
I urge the Select Board to purchase the land needed to create a pocket park on Highland Street. It would be a welcome area of green space in a location that was recently ravaged and denuded by developers. It is a sickening sight to walk by the once-lush area and be forced to view a mountain of sand.
A pocket park could offer some walking trails, benches, and water features to benefit the entire neighborhood of West Acton. The future residents of the other 19 houses could also enjoy it, as would local preschools on walking field trips.
The development itself is horrifying, and a park might help mitigate the effects of losing all the forestation that used to be there. I ask that the Select Board continue the work of creating more green space in Acton and build a pocket park on Highland Street in West Acton.
